Did I miss the part of the secret that said this person definitely doesn't have a job?

Not really xD but people discuss lack of their job a lot. Logical is they had it as 300 does not cover living costs anywhere.

I'm just surprised that even the people arguing with this comment seem to be accepting the premise that this person must not have a job. Which is ridiculous. There's such a thing as the working poor.

Exactly. I used to work for a non-profit clinic that only takes patients who don't have health insurance and these are the exact people we see: people who have jobs, but STILL can't afford something as basic as a visit to the doctor or prescription drugs.

Unfortunately politicians promote the lie that people are either conscientious workers contributing to the state or the leeching unemployed collecting benefits.

Hell, I have a part time job at a college, but that means I have a hard time finding work over the summer and most years can't find anything. So last year I applied to food stamps to help me during that time only to find out that, unless you're disabled, you can only get three months of food stamps before you have to be working or volunteering a minimum of 80 hours per month to keep getting assistance. And I don't always get that many hours at work.

My yearly income fluctuates between 5K and 7K and all I can say is that I'm damn lucky my dad isn't going to kick me out.
