If this kind of a dead end job paid enough that you could afford to live comfortably, then I think it would seem like a pretty decent lot in life. And by comfortably I mean enough to be able to afford: a modest but not tiny living space, car costs, healthy food, medical/dental when needed, childcare costs (eventually), the occasional vacation, a bit of disposable income, and a bit of saved income.

But I'm pretty sure that in most places, working a minimum wage job like this, you won't earn enough to cover those bases.
