Exactly. My father was a doctor. It's important work and I believe he found it fulfilling to help people, but it wasn't his consuming passion nor was it his purpose in life. He also loves traveling, reading, gardening, seeing more of his family and taking tons of naps - all of which he's enjoyed enormously since he retired. LIFE is his purpose in life.

I think people who go on about one's job being one's purpose in life are either incredibly lucky in their choice of careers or incredibly naive.
