I found the same, but I find that the people who did stick around are more reliable since they're more used to juggling time. The ones that disappeared don't have the time any more and knowing that bowed out, which is a different story. My fandom activity has dropped too but I am sure people would rather have me not sign up or make any promises than drop out midway.

SA - I actually came back to say that on further thought, I needed to disagree with myself a bit for exactly the reasons you stated. And a LOT of my fellow young people were as fickle as hell. (I mean, they were like that IRL too. Half the activities I was in sucked because they'd "forget" we were supposed to actually do stuff. In our own organizations. More than once a semester.)
