Not OP, but people commenting on this that you can make your own adventure happen if you just want, tell me what the hell do I need to do. I go out of my way to get out of my comfort zone, leave the house including going on foreign travels by myself, including off the beaten path places and sometimes doing potentially life-threatening shit because that's how desperate I am. Unplanned things and mishaps happen to me all the time, but never anything I'd call an adventure worth retelling anyone. There's no continuity to the mishaps, and they never lead anywhere bigger.

A real adventure is not just something you can make happen however hard you try, you need an element on chance. It's like telling someone who would really like to read a specific kind of story to just write it themselves, like they're going to be surprised by their own carefully crafted plot twists.

For one: don't be so fucking stuck on "I NEED TO BE SWEPT AWAY LIKE A LEAF IN A HURRICANE" or something. Like. Why does it have to be something huge? To me an adventure is just having fun with my friends because we got fucking lost. Why does it have to be some huge, world-saving trip? I think that's where you're stuck. It has to be Something Big like busting the Russian mob or something.

But OP's secret is about having a Grand Adventure. Grand. As in "Something Big."

If they were talking about a "just having fun with my friends because we got fucking lost" adventure, they wouldn't have called it a Grand Adventure (with fucking capitals and everything)!

Why are you mad that people out there have Grand, improbable yearnings? Is it because you don't have any, and are embittered that other people do?
