How do you organise them anon? By author/fandom/ship? Or are they just in 1 big folder?

I sort by fandom. If there is A LOT in a fandom, then I sort them by pairing, and sometimes genre.

But I have a fic folder, then within that each fandom, within each fandom if I have a lot from one author they have their own folder, as do series. If it's just one random fic from a random fandom, it doesn't get it's own folder, just goes in the general fanfic stuff. Each file is labeled "Story Title by Author", and if it's a series I add a number so they are filed in the appropriate order.

I actually do this too, in addition to my comment I wrote to this parent thread. If I'm in love with a specific author, there's usually a reason for it, so I'll make a specific author folder, and then organize them in order with all the relevant information I outlined in my other comment.

OP!

I organize stuff by fandom, and if I have more than one pairing in a fandom I have different pairing folders.

I generally write the title of the fic, the author, the rating and a couple words about what the fic is about or what interested me about it.

Made up examples:

"Summer Thunder by anon24955, E, switching and creampie kink"

"Pleasure By Any Other Name by aintyourmommasfandom, trans!male[Character Name] pegging cis!male[CharacterName]"

"The Art Of War by SunTzuFanboy, M, really great prose"

It helps a lot to have everything all there and a hint or two to jog my memory. :D
