But I have a fic folder, then within that each fandom, within each fandom if I have a lot from one author they have their own folder, as do series. If it's just one random fic from a random fandom, it doesn't get it's own folder, just goes in the general fanfic stuff. Each file is labeled "Story Title by Author", and if it's a series I add a number so they are filed in the appropriate order.

I actually do this too, in addition to my comment I wrote to this parent thread. If I'm in love with a specific author, there's usually a reason for it, so I'll make a specific author folder, and then organize them in order with all the relevant information I outlined in my other comment.
