I knew someone (well, online acquaintance) who was rejected from his booth when she tried to have him sign a very tame Edward/Roy fanart. He normally, as I recall, would sign fanarts and such, but evidently had a "no gay fanart allowed because I'm allowed to believe what I want and we should just respect and love each other :D" policy. Apparently he'd still sign more suggestive het stuff, too. I'd also heard rumors about the creepy hitting-on-girls thing.

I do hear that he has branched out in his actual voice acting and his characters no longer sound all the same, so there's that. I still have zero interest in watching any dub he is a part of, though.

I think I remember hearing about the story of him ejecting someone from his booth because of a m/m centered fanart, I mean I think that if I was an author or a voice actor, I wouldn't mind if people paired my character(s) up with someone of the same sex-- I think I would just be flattered thaet they showed me an interpertation of the character that I would not otherwise thought of.

I remember a friend went to a con and got the voice actress for Leia from Tales of Xillia to call me-- in character, and she started to gush about her and Jude and then I told her that I rather thought she'd be better with Alvin, and what to you know-- she rolled right into it and in character asked me for advice on how to nab Alvin. That's star power right there!

If I were a voice actor or creator, I'd absolutely jump on any attempt to make my fans feel engaged.

I get how there are some lines - usually tied in with possible legal limitations with the company you work for. Like, maybe as a voice actor, you wouldn't want to sign an actual pornographic image because it could look like you are officially condoning it or something. But "work safe" pairs? Absolutely! Fans who ship can be some of the most loyal fans who are most likely to buy merchandise and support you in the future, so anything to make them happy.

Plus I like to think I'm a fun, good-natured person who is geeky myself and would be pleased to support and engage with fans in general.

I dunno anything about Vic personally (my friend met him at a con and said he was nice, but I'know he's got kind of a bad reputation), but he voiced Kiriha in the Digimon Xros Wars dub and Matt in the Tri dub and it was really fucking distracting because his voice is so same-y. All I could hear was Ed and it was weird for Matt to have a higher voice than TK. I wish they could've gotten Michael Reisz again or a guy that had a deeper voice.

Oh nooo I've been wanting to find the Tri dub! I'll have to watch it anyway since so many of the originals are back, but how disappointing that he's Matt.
