That's a shame. Incredibly diverse police procedural in beautiful location sounds like my cup of tea. :(

I had to stop watching it because I wasn't able to stand visual violence very well anymore, and it seemed to never let up on violence.

I still like the show because of some of the characters, though. But yeah, sometimes the writing isn't the best out there.

I think it's a familiar show that people can tune into and enjoy without having to follow a lot of complicated plot arcs. (I mean, yeah, there are plot arcs, but you could probably tune in any week and know what's happening, if you know what I mean.)

I think for many people it's a light and fun show, people who aren't bothered by the violence or aren't looking for superb writing all the time.

And you can't deny the power of characters to carry an audience when the show lacks in other ways.

Basically "hot cops in Hawaii, team stuff, characters you like, and flashy episodes" will cover for poor writing a lot of the time.

(I still love the McDanno dynamic though. I watch for gifs on my tumblr, etc.)

Where are you getting your MacGyver predictions? CancelBear has it likely to be renewed.

Tv Grim Reaper also has MacGyver as a 90% chance of renewal.

Edit: Wait, that is the one you were talking about. I still associate cancel bear with TVbythenumbers. Which also has MacGyver as likely to be renewed. Either way, yes, I agree MacGyver is likely to be renewed and I have no idea what the OP is talking about.

I've recently gotten in to Hawaii-Five-0! I guess I just have a high tolerance for dumb action. I really enjoy how the characters interact with each other, which is really all I need, haha.

All of those CBS shows are awful, fandom just took to H5O because of the """HOT""" white guy leads that they can ship together and... oh the diverse cast.

This is one of those shows that I catch the occasional episode of but have no real urge to keep up with properly, it's not award-winning TV on any level but it's fun in its own dumb-action way.

But hey no sweat if you just didn't care for it, not everything we want to like ends up appealing to us. Lord knows I've tried my fair share of shows that I really wanted to like but ultimately I ended up finding boring or they didn't click for whatever reason. It happens, no point fretting over it tbh.

IA. I actually watched the first two(?) seasons, but I kept getting so annoyed I had to stop watching. I am a complete philistine when it comes to tv as well, I can watch the dumbest things and enjoy them because my suspension of disbelief goes that far. But this one...it was so bad it even soured the other procedurals I watched. They did the same stupid things just not nearly as blatantly, but once you've noticed it's hard to go back.

I loved the first season because it was so pretty to look at and just ... so cheesy and sort of funny. But it all went downhill from there and I stopped at the beginning of season 3 I think.

This was similar to my experience with the show. I adored the first season. I mean, it wasn't a good show, but it was such a goddamn fun show. But the second season was a gigantic mess of WTF, and I stopped watching even before that year was out. I've seen a few random episodes since, since family members still enjoy the show, and most of them have been better than S 2 & 3, it's nowhere near as enjoyable as the first season was. :(

Man, they throw the tropes thick and fast on that show.

It's kind of like reading one of those fanfics that isn't that well-written, but it's so enthusiastic that sometimes you just get dragged along for the ride.

It is better than Scorpion, not that that's saying much.

But if you want a better written procedural buddy-cop show with loads of chemistry, watch Lethal Weapon - the first season of 18 episodes just ended.

Idk it's kinda... explosions, random violence but not TOO violent, hot people, made family, beautiiiful place, all things I enjoy. My biggest problem, especially in today's climate, is the police brutality - but I try to comfort myself with the idea that they are always 100% right.

Hawaii. Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, & Alex O'Laughlin. Random LOST actors popping up.

I agree that the show is just . . . bad. And it's nothing I really turn on to WATCH, per say. I have it on for noise & every now & again I stare at something/someone pretty for a bit.
