Why fictionkin hate other fictionkin in a nutshell. Not calling you, fictionkin op, just that they're taking that annoyance up to nine thousand.

That's understandable.

I think the majority of headcanon fights come down to people being mad that other people don't see a character the same way they do, whether they identify with the character or not.

Ah, headcanons!

I got no beef with headcanons until somebody starts flaming everyone who disagrees or flounces because the fandom source material creator refuses to "make" a character canonically whatever-the-headcanon-is.

Another no-no is getting butthurt at a "no" answer if you ask a creator if a character is (whatever headcanon).

Same.

I kinda get peeved when a headcanon I don't like becomes so fanon people start treating it as canon. It's even more irritating when it makes it back into canon, like Han-Solo Super Slut, and Boba Fett The Most Badass Dude In The Whole Galaxy.

Yeah. Definitely agree. And when it bleeds into their fic, big no thank you.

I don't care if you headcanon or whatever, but keep some self awareness about it. We all have our headcanon and obsessions.

Honestly, I sometimes feel the same way. I don't feel too bad about it because I never post about my over-identifying headcanons or even about relating at all to a character.

Headcanons are all fine and good but it's pretty annoying when some people start to act like what THEY want for a character is what the characters creator wants for them. Like... these people will just decide another character/group doesn't deserve to be in the presence of their favorite character just because THEY don't feel their fav is appreciated enough despite the character canonically loving the people around them.

Those kinds of people are just pathetic.

I feel you, OP.

Although sometimes, I'll identify greatly with a character for one reason but really HATE seeing someone else headcanon them as having some other thing not hinted at by canon that I do share. Like it feels like too much.
