I, for one, do ship them hard, and didn't find this secret reason to get butthurt. I took it more as a "laughing with you, not at you" thing. If that's not how OP intended it, then joke's on them because I still ship them and I still think this art is awesome (if also kind of ridiculous) and I'm not sorry or ashamed.

You might not want to assume that everyone who comes up with really out-there AUs, whether fic or art, and everyone who enjoys them are always taking it and themselves 100% seriously.

Nope, still not OK to mock someone's fan art in a public place. Fuck them.

...I really don't think they're actually mocking the art, Anon. The artwork itself appears to be intended to provoke laughter via the WTF juxtaposition of Johnlock and Dirty Dancing. It is quite a successful piece.

I really don't think it is. I think the people who think it's cool to laugh at other people's art (especially publicly rather than in private among friends, i.e where it's not the same as public shaming) need to take a good long look in the mirror at themselves. Not. Cool.

Oh, calm down. This is not that. This is the same as laughing at Garfield, South Park, or Looney Toons. It'seems meant to be funny.

DA
Omg how dare you! Didnt you know Garfield was supposed to be a deep, intellectual discussion about real life politics? How can you laugh about it? The poor artist!
