The Craig Ferguson show did come to rely on the same old jokes a bit much. I liked the period where he'd come out and just do a long stand-up bit at the beginning.

The puppets were OK, Geoff was tolerable, but it wasn't the same.

I kind of agree, but I also think that's just the nature of the late-night talk show format. It's unavoidable.

Yeah I think it's really hard to stay fresh and for any joke to stay funny on late night if you watch it every single night. Most late night talk shows are something you should skip in and out of.

I remember Conan talking about how he used to think writing for SNL was challenging because you were doing a live show every week but then he went on to do his own show which was every night and that was much harder. It doesn't surprise me they all repeat jokes.

Omg, I couldn't agree more! I feel like there aren't many of us, either (there are dozens of us! Dozens!).

I did like Geoff better than the sidekicks on other shows that just laughed at what the host said.

For my money I'd say Andy Richter is the best sidekick on late night. He consistently adds to the humor, helps the guests, and makes Conan look better as a host.

Yay, a Craig Ferguson show fan!

I'm actually sorta okay with Geoff.

Oh lord, I'm a diehard Ferguson fan.

(I also know the exact moment I fell in love with him: I happened to catch a bit where he said that someone "was rear-ended by Orlando Bloom" and he said, with a wicked grin, "And haven't we all had THAT fantasy?")
