delicious, delicious schadenfreude.

Yes, I agree, delicious schadenfreude. Hope OP is enjoying.

What's an NL?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-15 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm assuming it's short for newsletter

(Anonymous) 2017-07-15 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Newsletter.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-15 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't get it. It seemed like a reasonable call to make at the time, and the mod can't be expected to predict the future, so...?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-15 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"It seemed like a reasonable call to make at the time" Uh, so, how did you reason?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-16 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
DA but if there was already an overwhelming amount of content on the newsletter, I can see why the mod wouldn't want to link to a multifandom meme. It's not the call I would have made, but it doesn't seem that out there. And maybe, with all of the content they were sorting through at the time, they misread OP's message somehow? OP says they never argued back after the rejection so I guess we'll never know for sure.

Sorry, but I'm not sure how it reflects poorly on the mod in particular that the fandom has become less active.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-16 09:53 am (UTC)(link)
No-one said that.

But to why the mods decision reflects poorly on the mod: maybe because any fandom eventually will fade and being arrogant and choosy about it when it's on its height is shitty and a short sighted strategy?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-16 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
That would only be the case if you could link that decision (or a pattern of similar decisions) to the decline of the fandom. As it happens, you said it yourself: any fandom eventually will fade. So what does any strategy actually matter?

Sometimes fandom gatekeepers shoot theirselves in their footers!

But I'm not familiar with fandom newsletters. Maybe mine never had any.
