Probably a combination of 1) this sort of thing just happens in Hollywood, I'd imagine, 2) not wanting to endanger their current job or later career, 3) being torn between disproving of his actions and still liking him and feeling a sense of loyalty, 4) not wanting to raise a lot of fuss, which would encompass not only him, but them (and they may not want that), whomever he was having affairs with (women they might regard as friends and don't want to expose to negative publicity), his wife, his kids (does he have kids?), and all kinds of other people who aren't actually at fault but may get dragged in anyway.
