I work at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, so I see people dressed up every day in vaguely fantasy-inspired clothes, or pirate gear, or as Disney characters, and let me just say: Chill the fuck out. They're having fun.

Why do you want to police what the patrons are wearing to what is, essentially, a medieval-themed mall? Nothing about the Faire is historically accurate anyway, and it's literally none of your fucking business what they choose to wear.

I love seeing the elaborate costumes people put together, whether they're Renaissance or not.

Wow, someone sounds mad.

even if you phrase it differently "u mad bro" in the year 2017 is a tad tacky my friend

I agree, OP has some serious sand stuck in random crevices.

They didn't make the secret, bruh.

It's not like it's an actual historical site.

For example, at Hampton Court Palace in London they have these historical type cloaks you could borrow - obviously it wouldn't make sense to show up there in a Jack Sparrow outfit.

...they do? Why is this just now being brought to my attention? I'm a member of Historic Royal Palaces and go to Hampton Court Palace all the time but have never heard anything about cloaks or seen them. I know what I'm doing at the weekend!

I'm always happy to see so many people having a good time, and I enjoy a good costume, no matter what theme it is.

Also, I've been to the Maryland Ren Fest. I miss it, but I live on the other side of the country now :/
