i wonder how it's pronounced in ahtna? i've never come across that language before so i have no idea.

That's not surprising. There are only 500 Ahtna still around and only eighty of them speak the language.

It all depends on whether Yakone is spelled the way it is in Ahtna. I'm guessing, [Ya-koh-neh].

the more you know! i've learnt something very interesting today. thank you, anon! i have to check this out, since rare languages are very relevant to my interests.

that's sort of how i was pronouncing it in my head. do you happen to know which syllable the emphasis falls on? sorry for so many questions! i'm just very curious now.
