My biological mother and father were married when I was born, but my mother had been cheating with my step dad, which resulted in my two older siblings. She divorced my biological father and married my step dad when I was still just a baby.

My step dad was also married to a different woman at the time, and had a daughter (my step sister). All four adults here knew each other, and I think were friends to some extent. I'm sure that changed once the whole adultery thing came out in the open.

It's weird to explain to people, because I don't want people judging my parents - I love all of my parents, step and biological alike. It happened so long ago, and my parents don't seem like the type of people to do that - well-to-do, professional folks. But it's always awkward to explain that my older siblings are half siblings (they use a different last name than me, I use my biological father's and they use our step-dad's) sooo I never know how to evade the question with grace.
