No, seriously do not worry about it. No matter how perfectly you write someone will find something to nitpick. They'll make something up if they have to, or employ dangerously torturous logic to have a socially problematic reading of it, just in order to rage to you. That is because people are raging assholes. So don't sweat the small stuff, and if we're honest, don't even sweat the big stuff either. Because you'll not be able to do right no matter how good you are, so write that Holmes and Watson take Concorde direct to New Zealand to solve the murder of a cyber-hacker with a laudanum addiction, and who was in a gay marriage with a dodo farmer. Because you won't get any less raged over if you don't.

I would also read that fic. Hell, I'd watch that movie. Make it an episode of Doctor Who with time travel shenanigans to explain/excuse the anachronisms, we're all golden.
