The only things I don't post to ff.net are porn and RPF because I'd rather they didn't get deleted, but other than that, I crosspost everything. No harm in it, OP.

Thinking about it, if you're new to fandom and have just discovered this fanfic thing, which site would you rather go to? Fanfiction.net, or this archive site you don't even know what it is? Fanfiction.net does seem to have a particular demographic, but it is popular.

Does the porn rule get enforced a lot? Can it get you banned? asking for a friend.

Yes! It is one of the few rules that FF.net really enforce. They almost lost the site entirely because of it at one point, and ever since have really cracked down. Porn needs to go to ao3 or your own personal website.

Yeah, I've had a smut fic taken down on ff.net. Now, all my smut is only on AO3, but I post everything else to both...

They seem to do a sweep every decade or so. I got caught in the initial purge. Some of my favorite stories got the axe during the second.

What I do now is post edited versions of my fics to ff.net, and unedited ones to AO3. Because AO3 won't toss my fic off the site because OMG!SEX. Even kinky/fetish-y sex. Which I love them for.
