I read some posts here and there, both the allegations and the rebuttals, and all I could think was, do I really NEED to know all this? These people I've never met are having a fight and I'm supposed to pick a side? How is this any of my business? It's not like we're talking neonazis or a serial rapists or anything.

Is the sentiment here like, this person acted like a jerk so let's make sure nobody supports their work so hopefully they'll fall into debt and end up homeless and miserable?

I know! It feels like stupid middle school drama and I just don't see why it's relevant to anyone other than the participants.
