That would be nice. But yeah, also not expecting it to happen. tbh I find watching season 1 Steven jarring because he's so immature mentally, and it's hard to reconcile that he's supposed to be 12-13? years old there.

The weird, disconnected aging is deliberate -- part of the "half-alien hybrid" thing. They talk about on-screen it while showing a photo album that reveals his physical appearance hasn't changed since age 8.

I think they're foreshadowing that he's not going to have another growth spurt until some not-yet-revealed factor comes into play. Especially since the rest of the Gems have only gotten design updates after character-development-heavy episodes.

The mental maturity difference I was talking about in regards to season 1 is what I perceive to be a tonal shift in the show. Season 1 Steven is like a typical western cartoon boy protagonist--dumb, innocent, impulsive--where later seasons gave him a more refined characterization after the show started elaborating the story.
