I don't like the look of tattoos at all, personally, but no judgment on those who do. It's not an aesthetic that appeals to me, although some have kinda cool designs. Also it really creeps me out when you see men who are extremely tattooed up and they look like they've done a lot of time for violence. Why do tats and violence seem to go together? Lots of non-violent people like tattoos, but there are so many leather-skinned, dead-eyed men with heavily overdone, violent tattoos around, it's a wonder to me that anyone else still likes that aesthetic (at least where I live). Theoretically, I could get behind some delicate ankle tattoo or something...but it's just not a look that generally appeals to me, or that I'd ever want to do. I don't think I've ever seen a fandom tat tbh.

This just reminded me of walking around an outdoor market and seeing a guy with more ink and piercings than half the population combined being just absolutely doting over his sparkly, tutu-wearing little girl who bore an alarming resemblance to Shirley Temple.

oh goodness, this is making me think of a tumblr post about big biker guys who are squeeing over cute kittens and tiny puppies and let toddlers without motor control pull on their face chains or their daughters paint their fingernails bright pink.

Not every tattooed biker is a violent ex-con. In fact, most of them are guys and gals with families who own businesses.

On the other hand, for gangs tattoos can be initiation stuff and 'storytelling' stuff of their time in jail and all that.

Gang tattoos and "storytelling" tattoos tend to be very specific designs, though, not generally artsy or detailed, so it can be pretty easy to tell those apart.
