The fact that you can read your own work multiple times and feel no shame probably means it's pretty good. I can gauge the quality of my own fic by whether or not I feel shame after reading it a few times.

I like reading my writing too. Even the rough stuff that I never got around to editing.

I reread my fic all the time. If I didn't think it was worth reading, I wouldn't have written it, you know?

I wish there was more fic for you to read, OP, but it's nice that you can read your own work. Mine embarrasses me when I try to read it.

Your secret made me both smile and feel a bit lonely, OP! I'm happy your work is satisfying to you that way, but wish there were more fics for you to read.

I feel you, OP

There is like, one author each in a couple of my fandoms who writes fic that isn't tumblr prompt fills or 1.5K fluffpieces, and I have read those fics over, and over, and over. I feel you.

It's good, too, that you like your own writing, and good that at least you made something for your fandom.

I ship rare pairings and I often end up reading my own fic. Except sometimes I get uncomfortable reading the smutty parts. (I don't know why, I'm the one who wrote them, but I do.)

Me too! Sometimes it's difficult to write them, sometimes easy, but it's always weird to try and read them later.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-11 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
I do this too anon. Otherwise i'd never have anything to read. :(

While I wish you had more to read, if that's what you want, clearly the responses indicate this is nothing unusual or shameful. About half the fic writers I know reread their own stuff, no matter the size of the fandom. I've read my own stories multiple times. I wrote them because I liked the plot/pairing, so obviously I enjoy them. Other people's fic? Now that's a gamble.

I ghostwrote this.

I read my own fic a lot because my OTP isn't that popular in my main fandom. Also, it hits all my kinks, so what's not to like?
