Having a child is a purely selfish decision, yes, but it's also none of your goddamn business how or why people come to have a child.

For the record, I do wish people would think more about the kind of genes they want to pass on, but at the same time, it's their choice. Dictating others' reproductive choices is a slippery slope. And you act like it's so fucking easy "just adopt!" Adoption is not an easy process, it costs an assload of money, and there's no guarantee you'll get the kid in the end.

There are a lot of things that aren't my business, but it doesn't mean they don't piss me off. Yeah, everyone has the right to drive a hummer and blast at wild animals with shotguns and treat employees like shit, doesn't mean I won't try to discourage that kind of shitty behavior.

Also, if someone can't adopt, oh well. I'll probably never be a millionaire either. Can't have everything you want in life. People gotta grow up and realize their decisions have consequences.

Does it get tiring, being so insufferably self-righteous all the time?

I believe OP has realized decisions have consequences. You can feel however you god damn well want to feel about their decisions. You still don't get to dictate them. Maybe YOU need to grow up and realize you aren't in control of everyone else.
