I feel like the same argument could be applied to abuse and rape=love, and to a lesser extent h/c where self-harm and suicide are glorified, which has the potential to harm vulnerable people too.

Which is, I think, what OP is arguing? Not that pedophilia isn't bad, but why not include the others if that's the reasoning?

I really have much more of an issue with things that can be used against children/young teens, as abuse and rape=love are much more insidious and go beyond simply a story told having an impact. I don't see it as highly likely that a person would be shown a story or series of stories and have it be the main reason that they are in an abusive relationship. Especially if we are talking about adults in this relationship. (If a child and an adult were involved in the story, then it would go toward my original dislike of stories that could be used to groom children.) Whereas I feel like pedophilic stories can make much more of an impression as children are often at an age where the line between fantasy and reality is really blurred and seeing something portrayed in fantasy really can help to normalize it for them.

I also don't care for self-harm and suicide being glorified (I really dislike Thirteen Reasons Why, actually), but I'm less against that, as again, it isn't generally used by someone to groom someone else. It's more that I don't want to give a tool to someone that could be used to hurt another more vulnerable person. Sadly there will always be triggers that can affect a person on their own, but they really cannot be regulated, as what is triggering to one is fine to another.

I don't know if that all makes sense. And it's not as if I go around and berate people for writing or reading things. I just know that it is the one part of YKINMYATO that I don't subscribe to.

"Whereas I feel like pedophilic stories can make much more of an impression"

"I feel like"

So you're n0t actually basing your opinion on facts. Only on your own, personal feeling of dislike for one kink. What if I feel like any story that portrays an abusive relationship as romantic made an impression on my mother and made her marry abusers twice? What if I feel like a popular movie in my country depicting a gasy teen committing suicide is what inspired my gay friend to commit suicide? I have the right to "feel like" this. But does that give me the right to call everyone who utters a single positive word on fiction depicting suicide and abuse out? Because I feel like it?

I honestly can't tell if you're a troll or not.

What part of my comment seems trolly to you? The part that you disagree with?

DA. The part where you are setting up a giant straw man argument and bashing the AYRT with it.

+1 This is a good answer.
