A lot of the younger actors on Game of Thrones are pretty terrible.

True. It kind of sucks sometimes that the younger actors are major players because a lot of them could use a few more acting classes under their belt.

Sad but true. I feel like casting directors are in a difficult position because it's tough to find a decent child actor who both looks the part and is capable of handling... well, some pretty heavy scenes when it comes to GoT. Then because the story spans so many years, you also have to hope they can grow into the role as it gets more complicated and not all of them do... but of course you have no way of knowing that ahead of time.

IMO Maisie's the best of the lot.

Yeah, she's got some talent.

That's a surprisingly accurate description, really.

Yeah Kit kind of has a rather limited range. I have nothing against him but I also have no desire to see him in other things because he's not that strong of a performer.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-06 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't unsee it.

Yeah, I'll watch shit that he's in just because I think he's oddly cute, and he seems sweet in his interviews, but honestly, people who say he's a good actor? Yeahhhhh, I don't know what they're smoking.

Except for that stupid tennis 'movie' he did with Andy Samberg on HBO (7 Days in Hell, I think it was called). His character was so outrageously weird that Kit actually worked in it, because he didn't need a lot of range besides being stiff and awkward.

I think he's got better over the years. And he happens to have an unfortunate resting gormless face, he's very funny in interviews etc.

Did you never see that one Graham Norton interview Kit Harington was in with Matt LeBlanc and he attempted to using Joey's "smell the fart" acting?

*admitted not attempted

He was actually a little bit better in Pompeii, so I'm not sure if some of his weakness in GOT may be bad direction.

The weirdest film I seen was Jon Snow getting kidnapped by his mother (in that film but I did not read books so could be similar) and dragged home to evul cult dwelling while his school mate had to save him. Too bad it was not "Jon Snow got lost and ended up in Silent Hill while impersonating a character who possibly was a lover of his mother and not her kid."

He would be ten times less gormless if he would just shut his mouth! Please, Kit, just do it!
