Just want to clarify - NOT a repeat secret, it's taken from a comment in the gc.

I dunno, usually I'm a costume purist, but here, I kinda like it.

You and everybody else on Reddit... Meanwhile using inverted colors makes this Domino unique in movie history, as opposed to the Pasty Goth Girl we've seen many times before.

Is pasty goth girl big in superhero movies? or movies in general?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-08 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
well, Harley Quinn was probably the most promoted character in Suicide Squad

"Goth" Females in Super Hero movies: Harly, Enchantress, The fire chick in Hellboy, Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Deadpool.

Yes, goths (and albinos, and ultra-white alien people) have been represented numerous times in sci fi, fantasy, horror and drama. The point is "black lady assassin with vitiligo" is something that's not been done before in any genre, so it's refreshing compared to sticking straight to her comic look. Which, Colossus aside, they weren't buggered with at all in the first Deadpool anyway.

I don't hate it but... yeah, I'd have preferred her signature dark spot over her eye too.

..... aaaugh what has been seen cannot be unseen.

(I still think she's going to be awesome but it's going to take me a bit to get over that.)

...get over what?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-09 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Presumably it's hard to take a character seriously when all you can see when you look at them is Spaceballs.

The Domino-as-Barf mental picture.

OTOH, trying to imagine the patch in black results in me thinking of that one guy in KISS.

Not familiar with the original character btw.
