Ok, I love Willow... but I gotta admit, you're not wrong on any of this. it's all very good points, and I tended to ignore them because 1. I love willow. and 2. I tended to give her a pass on the grounds they she was a teenager with a bad case of the unrequited loves. Makes people act like dicks sometimes.

mostly point 1, but either way... yeah good points, can't refute.

I get the ignoring it thing. Honestly, I got into the show a little late, so I think I was just enough older than characters were supposed to be to cringe a little at the bad decision making. And the fact that Willow could be like this didn't bug me as much as the fact that the other characters and the show's narrative at large played it off like her behavior was totally justified. Xander was portrayed as a loveable jackass. The loveable part may be arguable, but everyone on the show (including sometimes Xander) agreed about the jackass part and thus he was frequently karma's bitch. Willow almost always got a pass from everyone for her bad behavior, and it made her less likeable to me. If nothing else had changed except that Willow's flaws were acknowledged as flaws by the other characters, I think I would have liked her a lot.
