I'm in the US so we haven't had the new eps yet...or maybe we have and I haven't been paying attention. But either way I have to say that I have 0 interest in this show with Marian dead. I don't care if the new season is the bestest thing ever, I just can't deal with the crap they pulled. This secret makes me think I'm not missing anything.

Seconded. I didn't mind them playing fast and loose with the legend generally, but when they killed off Maid Marian, I just basically went "... and I'm done". Seriously, in every decent version of the story after she passed away he basically lets himself pine away and die, so... yeah. So not happy with what they did!

Meter fail in a major way. Don't quit your day job.

And yeah she's pretty boring. I'm more interested in Isabella. But not for Robin to bang because he really should be angsting right now what with the love of his life having just kicked the bucket.

Your sense of rhyme is fine; it's your sense of meter that's lacking.

Just in case it wasn't obvious in the secret, I'm well aware the poem sucks.

I would say its supposed to be that way to reflect the character I'm talking about, but really I'm just very crappy at that sort of thing. Or knowing the official terms.

Well, each to their own. *g* I'm sorry you think Joanne Froggatt is such a poor actress, but having seen her in other work, believe me she is so much better than you think - but the utter shite she's been given to work with (character, dialogue, etc) is hardly her fault. Frankly, I love Kate to bits - much more so than Isabella who may indeed be an interesting character, but I find some of Lara Pulver's acting tics distracting. :¬}

I think this show is really bad at female characters. I didn't like Marion, I don't like the two new characters - the only I have liked is Djaq. I dont know if its the actors or the writers, but I can't get onboard with them. Also, you are right about Much. He is the best character on the show and is continually shoved aside. So not cool.

I tried and tried to like Kate, but she got on my nerves within about 2.5 seconds. (I think she's meant to be Djaq's female replacement in the gang, but Djaq was useful, and talented, and kind...

This show doesn't have to do much to get me to smile... I know it's silly and campy and Not To Be Taken Seriously, but I could not agree with you more about Kate. I'm not usually one to harshly bash female characters, but she is a SUE, darn it. I keep hoping she'll improve, but the writers just keep making her obnoxious. I miss Djaq. And Marian. Can we have them back now, please?
