What?? That's a fantastic song. It came out of the blue in its time and 100% holds up. It doesn't sound anywhere as near as dated as most classic rock in terms of production.

Her music will always remind me of my mum, but that’s not an insult at all Op, Enya’s stuff is really nice to listen to and as a heavy metal girlie I have some of her songs on my playlist.

I quite like this song, though TBH I like the Celtic Women cover a bit better. But Enya in general is great. No shame, OP.

I love Enya! She paved the way for me getting interested in neofolk and industrial, and goth rock. Just knew I wanted more like her when I heard her as a kid, and kept exploring new artists from what I found, ending up finding all kinds of stuff. Her music is great.

Are all your friends only into hard rock or is she very atypical of your usual taste?

Enya was great - a lot of her stuff gets very samey, but so does classic rock. Orinoco Flow isn't my favourite of hers, but the string arrangement in this song is just perfection.

Orinoco Flow and Enigma's Return to Innocence and Sadeness (Part I) live in the same part of my head, so when I think of one, I also think of the other two.

Oh, just listen to the whole Pure Moods album. You know you want to!

They share space in my head too. I love quite a few of Enya and Enigma (and Clannad) as quiet easy listening. Of course now I have Orinoco Flow trickling through my head and it's making me smile.

They make fun because they like it too, but they find it easier to cling to some meme about Enya that hasn't been relevant to anything for thirty years instead of living their truth and enjoying their lives. And I'll bet a big pancake breakfast that I'm right.

Orinoco Flow is cool and Enya is great, no need to feel shame op! My favourite is Caribbean Blue tho

I just recently listened to the whole Memory of Trees album again and I still love it. Makes me super melancholic though.

Sounds like you need some friends with broader musical tastes. Not saying to get rid of the others, just to make some more, even if they're only online.

Enya rocks and always will \nn/
