Re: Scariest horror movies?
(Anonymous) 2026-05-24 02:57 am (UTC)(link)The Exorcist III. The Exorcist is a classic, obviously. The Exorcist II is NOT worth your time. But The Exorcist III? Incredible.
Sister Death. Mostly just building dread, the right amount of gore, very artful.
Incantation. There are a COUPLE jump scares but it does NOT rely on them and I was SO tense at the end of this movie and here's the thing, in crafting this response I had to go through my letterboxd reviews with a fine-tooth comb bc horror is my number one genre but I am rarely *scared* by horror movies. Tension over the characters' fates, yes, but I don't tend to experience any real fear when watching horror movies. I'm... usually the guy eating lasagna and laughing during? This one kinda freaked me OUT.
