lol, I would have hated that movie if it weren't for them. I hate serious movies in general, though, and always finding myself getting attached to the comic relief characters. They were the best part of the movie to me.
And anyway, weren't they the ones who presented the alternative moral of "Hakuna Matata" as opposed to fighting what you believe in? If it weren't for them and Simba's life with them, Simba wouldn't have had to choose between the two ideas and the story wouldn't have had a moral. Or maybe I'm just really missing the point.

Thanks. When I was watching that movie as a little one I was like "Wait, so which would I choose? Standing up for my beliefs, of course! But wait! The lions are such a bunch of whiny boring pricks and Timon and Pumba are so cool! And their lives seem awesome and easy and fun! But easy and fun =/=right! GAHH"
lol, between this and secret 01. making me remember my obsession with Slyvester the cat, this post is making me realize what a weird little kid I was.

I.... may or may not have had a bit of a crush on Timon when I was younger. *blush* Even though he was kind of an asshole :P And now I think Scar is pretty hot mostly due to his voice, but that's something I can admit amongst Disney-loving friends with a little less shame.
