"Humanoid aliens", huh. How many episodes did you even see?

[identity profile] marshwiggledyke.livejournal.com 2012-04-26 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)

An ode for a non-humanoid.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Um, 97% of them were humanoids. There were like 5 about weird-ass gas clouds, that one about the rock-alien in the cave... but most of the rest were humanoids.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
truth. idk why some people have to try to claim that there really weren't that many humanoid aliens whenever someone criticizes the show for that. there WERE a lot of humanoid aliens, but admitting that doesn't mean you're admitting that it's a bad series lmao. all you're doing is recognizing its budgetary constraints.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
More than you, it seems. C'mon, most of the aliens in TOS were humanoid. Hell, before CGI, most of any aliens were.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
How many episodes did you see? because the majority of the aliens in Star Trek were humanoid. And many of them didn't even have defining characteristics like Vulcans or Orions. They just...looked like regular people.

oh great the furry fandom has arrived, are you reccing fic in which Kirk fucks a tribble?

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2012-04-26 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd love to know how you inferred I'm a furry from a comment regarding tribbles.

And frankly: fic in which Kirk fucks a tribble - Ew. Just. Ew.

Tribbles are furries now

Huh

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
No, but there's totally a K/S fic where a tribble is in love with Spock's balls.

/has been on the internet too long

Pfft, why bother with that when you can go for hot tribble-on-tribble action? They're born pregnant! Can you imagine the fun the pregnancy-kink people would have with that? These things inseminate each other in the womb!

[identity profile] rosehiptea.livejournal.com 2012-04-26 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither was the Horta.

But I have to guiltily admit that I see what the OP is getting at...

(Note to anon: I am not reccing fic in which Kirk fucks the Horta, so don't even ask...)

made it simpler to shag the space babes though, that'd be difficult if they really were alien. Its good to be the king The Captain.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-26 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
The planets didn't just mimic Earth, they mimicked southern California!

[identity profile] kallanda-lee.livejournal.com 2012-04-27 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I think if I were on a spaceship, I'd be fawning over seeing a nebula - let lone other races, humanoid or not. So nope, don't feel sorry for them...

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, they seemed to enjoy the thirties gangster planet quite a bit! Also, never mind the planets, there were always interesting things floating around in space; mystic clouds that gives people godlike powers, giant amoebas, doomsday weapons, spaceships peopled by aliens who think they're on a planet, Abraham Lincoln...

Also, there was the Horta (love that episode), that horrifying salt monster, the strange cells that killed Kirk's brother and his wife, tribbles, those little thingies that only took human shape but looked more like a cross between an insect and a muppet and were about two decimetres high, the spear-throwing yeti things, those brains in jars, that forcefield that fell in love with Zefram Cochrane, that thing that turned out to be Jack the Ripper, a few of the ambassadors in Journey to Babel, those consciousnesses that lived in spheres, that ambassador who humans can't look at without going insane so he sort of lives in a box and is accompanied by a blind woman, and, of course, the Gorn. I could go on.

My favourite episodes, though, are the one where Kirk spends most of it in a woman's body, the one where someone steals Spocks' brain so they have to steer him by remote control until they can locate it, and the one where Spock goes into heat and has to wrestle Kirk until he's out of it. Oh, and the sexbot one is pretty fun, especially as Kirk specifically asks about a male one.

and the one where Spock goes into heat and has to wrestle Kirk until he's out of it.
BEST EPISODE! Though the one where they all get infected with something that basically gets them drunk and Sulu starts trying to fight duels with everyone (shirtless!) and Kirk and Spock wind up locked in a room talking about feelings~ comes very close :D

ooh, and the time-travel ones. Those were great. OMG AND THE ONE WITH THE BADASS LADY ROMULAN COMMANDER!

a few of the ambassadors in Journey to Babel

that episode will always be flawless for the simple fact that kirk (somehow) never found out that spock is the son of the FUCKING VULCAN AMBASSADOR TO EARTH prior to the episode!! the human wife didn't even tip him off hahaha!

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Favorite episode: Wolf in the Fold. You know, the one where Scotty gets framed for murder, and they fight the spirit of Jack the Ripper by being high. XD

Don't care. Will forever be loling at Nazi Germany planet. :D

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Bad example, that wasn't one of there natural earth clones, a nutcase earth scientist/historian decided to recreate Nazi Germany on another planet, because he thought it represented the most efficient society ever (you know, apart from all the internecine infighting, the genocide, the bureaucratic fuck ups, the military fuck ups, those little moustaches...etc.) then got got deposed when one of his subordinate Nazis (hey, who would have seen that one coming?) decided he'd like to be great leader for a while.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-27 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Then you are not a physicist (understandable!) nor amazed, as Spock, Kirk, and Bones are, over the incredible scientific discovery of what you are pointing out within an infinite possibility space. It's actually amazing, that out of every permutation possible, life mimics life. Amazing.

...You feel sorry for the space travelers on incredible explorations?

Okay then.
