No, it's definitely a cultural thing. Americans are horrified by the thought of having to watch someone else be satisfied in public because it's probably not their own bootstraps that are being tugged to get them there :P

Or it could be that some of us just don't like watching other people have sex in public? Seriously, where I live in the US, as long as 1. You don't have your tongue completely down someone's throat for an extended period of time [AKA: Making out hard core] and you aren't screwing, then no one is really going to care.

But oh wait. Americans = all the same, sorry, I forgot.

P.S. It's not just Americans who feel this way.

I don't think anyone was saying that all Americans are the same. It was just pointed out that it is a more common view in the US than in several parts of the world.
