This is interesting. I don't read fic for the purpose of getting off on it, and while I think small touches are sweet, I do generally get more of a "wow" sensation from well-written kissing scenes or whatever (though I don't love it when they tread into makeout territory).

irl, in an actual relationship, I like all those things, even if they have different purposes. I like the light touches that demonstrate a balance of physical and emotional intimacy, and also super-intense kissing/making out.

It's been a while for me though, so...*shrug*
