whitechapel...? (I know it's not actually set in the Victorian era but since the whole jack the ripper thing looms over everything, I thought maybe that might give it the atmosphere)

or I guess Sherlock Holmes would be the more obvious guess

Not at all :D But you won't guess anyway, it is super obscure.

Whitechapel is nice, by the way, although the plot was making me laugh so hard I couldn't take the murders and the drama seriously.
And it never made me want to write fanfiction, God forbid.

SH is one of my fandoms (all the versions, from canon to Granada, the Russian one, Richardson et c.), but I mostly read things not write.
