3. What about, "I love her even more now?"
Though, I think that mostly stems from the fact that she's coming back. YAY FOR SCIENCE.

I know, right?

I'm pretty blatantly feminist and I love manga.

The author of the secret tells us to read novels. Well there are a LOT of pretty crappy novels out there. Using the logic of the secret author, that means that reading novels is baaaad.

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 06:00 am (UTC)(link)

The author of it just seems ill-informed and spiteful. Maybe someone needs a hug.

...Questionable Content?

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-02-25 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)

1. I did the same thing. Though in more recent history I was stupidly playing FFIV Advance on a low battery and lost about 45 minutes of game time.

2. I went through a period of that. Now I would give a lot to have someone RP with me.

5. So violent. Dare I say it's reactions like this that make the other people say something. It's fandom for the love of god.

7. Ehm ... I think you're confusing manga with hentai. You should look into more of it before you have such an opinion.

12. Lol. Awesome.

13. And I agree completely. If I believed in reincarnation I'd say I'd have lived then. I have a lot of historical obsessions, but there isn't another in which I feel so connected to at times.

[identity profile] shinysilvercoin.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
1. Yeah, that happened to me a lot when I was a kid. Fucking. Grr. ARG XD
2. I lost interest in RP. >.> I think some people still want to kill me for dropping characters.
4. That looks awesome!
8. ....Sorry, you just summed up my life at the moment. Thank you.
9. EVERYONE in Firefly kicks ass. KICKS. ASS. I tried slashing them, and failed miserably before I even started :)

[identity profile] calviin.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Firefly is the best ever. I don't know how people missed out on this. It's probably the greatest tragedy in all of time.

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
4.) Being in obscure fandoms is great fun, ain't it?

7.) Er? That can't be the ONLY reason, can it? I mean, c'mon. I'm no big fan of anime/manga either, but I have my own reasons.

13.) I hear ya. Sengoku Judai (Age of Warring States) for me though. :D

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Am I that predictable? XD

4) Amen to that. ♥! I can't even remember how I found the series, but it was back before there was an LJ comm for it. At times I wish that more people knew about it, but then I too am reminded how fun it is to enjoy one of the lesser-known series. ...and I can't agree more with wanting more updates. DOGS is def. love. Agreeing with the shounen-ai part, too. I'm a fan of it, but it really doesn't work.

Yes, it's fun being a part of the fandom until you mention it to someone and get a very blunt "...whut?" in your general direction. Finding a fellow fan makes me want to reveal myself for the sake of giving out contact info. It really, really doesn't work.

"PLEASE CONFIRM YOU ARE A HUMAN BELOW." Grr LJ.

1. That's okay, I once had a panic attack over not being levelled up enough to beat FF7 (it was my first RPG, so I wasn't quite acquainted with the wonderful art of levelwhoring) and stuck it in a drawer for two weeks until I got up the courage to play it again.

Oh, to be 13 years old again, without a care in the world but gaming.

Y HALO THAR HUGE GENERALIZATION

HOW YOU DOIN

[identity profile] xreddestinyx.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
7. You dislike anime for a STUPID reason.

[identity profile] xreddestinyx.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, and 12 is awesome! I hate all the stupid cutting secrets on ljsecret. Blargh. EMO.

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
4. I love DOGS. Brilliant characterizations and things. ♥

7. AHHAHHAHA WHAT. I should not be reading this secret and drinking water at the same time. XD WERD TO YOUR MOTHERLAND.

[identity profile] cakemix.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
7.) BUST OUT THE POPCORN, WE'VE GOT WANK INCOMING~ 8DDD

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
POPCORN FOR ALL

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
IS IT FUNNY THAT I WAS EATING POPCORN A WHILE AGO. 8D

[identity profile] radarsparks.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
2. Me too, sadly. I lack the interest, enthusiasm, and motivation I used to have for it. :(

4. Dogs is awesome, and I do the same thing. Waiting for a new chapter is kind of agonizing, but then when it comes out it's like WOW.

7. lololol

11. HMM I THINK I KNOW WHO'S THIS IS. D!CEST PLZ AND THANK YOU. DETECTIVES ON THE SIDE, I DO NOT MIND ~

13. Ancient Egypt is so interesting. /bland commentary

(Anonymous) 2007-02-26 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
11. YEAH CAUSE I SHOWED IT TO YOU!

[identity profile] radarsparks.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
I PROBABLY WOULD'VE KNOWN ANYWAY. I HAVE AN ALL-SEEING EYE, YOU KNOW.

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
1. I'd cry too. Or break something. .___.

8. I know how you feel. It's like I don't have time for anything anymore and, when I do, I'm creatively wiped-out.

9. Firefly is love on a massive scale. ♥

[identity profile] queenie-z.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
5. I've always known the KH fandom was filled with RAGE!!!1 from both sides. But. This secret has convinced me to stay far, far away from it. :D

7. Actually most of us do read novels. I'm an anime fan and I absolutely adore of Leaves. I even - gasp! - understood most of it. I will agree with you on the stereotyping, though... there are some series that have that issue. I just don't watch them. 8)

And that's all I have to say about that.

[identity profile] epistretes.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
2. I felt the same recently, but then we got some new players and it just breathed life right back into it for me =D

5. Namine does > Kairi...but I still love Kairi anyway.

7. Manga & anime =/= hentai, which is what you seem to think it is. Also, yes - I am literate and read actual novels too. I'm writing one as well. Liking anime doesn't make you a sexist/sterotypical pig, not does it make you ignorant or mean you don't read "real" novels. Point of fact - more manga I've read has an actual plot than a lot of the so-called classic fiction I have seen around.

9. Firefly is love.

10. Ah hahaha. Absolutely.

13. Yes. I love that era.

[identity profile] happy-cupcake.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
1. I would have cried too. Big crocodile tears just like your secret's picture has.

7. I don't want to kiss your ass, it's probably full of poo and I hate the direction the feminist community is taking now a days.

10. That sounds like fun! The best part would be if they thought it was just something random and had no idea where it came from :D

12. Sad part is, I'm sure that there are people out there that do cut themselves for that reason D:

larvayne: pokemon; ho-oh (NAMINE: IN MY EYES)

[personal profile] larvayne 2007-02-26 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
2. It's the same here.

5. Naminé~

13. Reincarnation! You never know.

[identity profile] hako-neko.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
4. What is that series about? I am now curious. XD;

7. Boo-hoo for you. Anime/Manga isn't all big breasted bimbos. Try watching/reading a series that isn't focused on fan-service.

[identity profile] mercale.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
1. OMG that happened a LOT to me, because like, when you're in a dungeon in FF3/6 the save points are PRETTY spread out and our power cord was all worn out from YEARS of use so if you breathed wrong it died. So this one day I was having the BEST of luck with it and forgot to save and... oops, brother kicks it. I deleted his game as revenge....

8. Yeah... Too much to do these days.

[identity profile] kokamo.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
2. ...Guh. I'm in love with the image you've used. o.o

7. Umm... What's with the yellow stuff? WHAT'S IT SUPPOSED TO MEAN, TELL ME PLZ. I'm sorry that you hate anime/manga so much, but you're certainly not the first such person I've come across. >.>

9. Ah, Firefly. Brilliant show. I tried slashing the boys a bit, but it just didn't work. Now that's a rarity. (So much love for Firefly, I have!) :D

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 05:57 am (UTC)(link)

2. I know. I was staring at that image and being all, 'Guh!' *_*

[identity profile] kokamo.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
It's just so pretty (and it reminds me of one of my favorite musicians). Ugh, I want to draw like that. <3

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 06:23 am (UTC)(link)

It's made me want to draw something tonight ever since I saw it. I think I will. It's just so insanely pretty and sadistic.

Also, your icons are absolute love. I used to have pet Mallards and now live around lakes and get to watch ducks raise their babies every spring. So cute.

[identity profile] kokamo.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, me too. I'll probably draw something like it soon as well. It's very... inspiring. *grin*

You must know that I am, at this moment, insanely jealous of you. My parents allow me to raise a duckling every spring, but I never have the means to keep them. No lakes here-- just big, ugly residential neighborhoods. D:

[identity profile] revanchists.livejournal.com 2007-02-26 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
4. OH YES

(Anonymous) 2007-02-27 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
7. Ew, you read *books*? Eh--you read one linear narrative written by a dead European man, you've read 'em all, is what I say. AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A FEMINIST. 8D

[identity profile] victorisham.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
7. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

OH SURE, ALL ANIME AND MANGA FANS ARE COMPLETELY BLIND TO NOVELS. AND ANIME AND MANGA ARE THE ONLY TYPES OF MEDIA THAT HAVE STEREOTYPES.

YEAH SURE. WHATEVER YOU SAY.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-07 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
7. PFFFFFFF. I love how by how making the gross generalization that all anime/manga stereotypes women, you are, by definition, STEREOTYPING ANIME/MANGA. I mean, sure, a TON of them are crap, but isn't that true of ANY form of media? As for picking up a book without pictures, ohmygod, I am SO SICK OF GETTING THIS SHIT.

DEAR WORLD,

JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE CHOOSE TO READ COMIC BOOKS/MANGA/GRAPHIC NOVELS/WTFEVER DOES NOT MEAN THEY NEVER READ NOVELS OR NONFICTION ACCOUNTS.

NOT SO MUCH LOVE, MANGA FAN

FOR CHRISSAKES, HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO THE ROMANCE/EROTIC SECTION OF A BOOKSTORE? Talk about LOOKING THE SAME and REINFORCING SEXIST STEREOTYPES.

Speaking of which, have you EVER seen/read/heard of yaoi manga? There's a lot of it. AND MUCH OF IT REINFORCES NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES OF MALES. SO REALLY, THEY GET THE SAME TREATMENT AS WELL, but of course, you don't know that, seeing as you are so set in your obtuse generalizations that I'm sure none of this is swaying your premature conclusions.

I seriously wish I knew who you were JUST so I could kick your ass in a debate. Not even wank. Just straight-out, logical debate, as you obviously are one very angry individual who makes wildly inaccurate claims about things they don't know jackshit about.

work on your own fucking prejudices before judging other people, ok? God, you're one of those people who gives feminists a bad, bad name.

P.S. I wouldn't be an avid writer if it weren't for the anime/manga/game fandoms that I use as foundations with which to practice consistent characterization and plot, as I plan to pursue a career as a writer. Think about that the next time you tell a manga fan to pick up a fucking book. Shit.

[identity profile] headswedance.livejournal.com 2008-01-20 08:12 am (UTC)(link)
9. I miss that show so much. And I have had the same feeling, not with Firefly though.
