How would I be denying what I really want? That's a very loaded statement, if you meant it to apply to all slash fans.

I'm kind of curious if you're done with romance fic in general, actually. I've seen people widen their interests as they get older and realise they want to read more female centric stories, but they don't totally leave it behind unless they leave fandom (or at least fic) entirely.
