39. Okay. I'm offended. No, I take that back. I'm very offended. Okay, more annoyed than offended, but still.
I used to like bishonen. Then I grew up. I got bored. So so so so so bored with pretty boys. In every. Single. Thing. Bishonen were a large reason for me leaving anime fandom more or less altogether. But honestly, that's not what bothers me. What pisses me off is how much you assume.
I'm offended that you think because we don't like bishonen and don't really "get" the whole bishonen thing that we must:
A) Like big, burly, "super masculine" men.
B) Be damsels in distress.

I think you're kind of a hypocrite, in a way, saying that we don't get how other people have different tastes. I don't get the appeal after a certain age. Sorry. But none, and I do mean none, of the guys I fan are "super masculine" at all. They're just not pretty. And that's what bishonen means. Not weak or wussy or needing saving or that sort of thing. It means "pretty boy."
Sorry. I like Chris Eccleston. I like Alan Tudyk. I like (LOVE) John Simm. None of them are pretty. And Alan especially is crap at being masculine (ever seen Firefly? Wash was basically the woman of that relationship. His wife was more masculine than him). But they are sooo sexy.

41. I'm inclined to agree about the movie. It felt like a sci-fi, not a Western, and it lacked all the real heart that the series had. But I don't consider that so much Joss's fault, because I think he was trying to condense three or four seasons into one two-hour movie. As a series, it would've been beautiful. As a movie, it lost almost everything that made it feel so genuine and perfect.

46. I'd kind of like that too. I don't know why they hinted at it so freaking strongly at the beginning of the series only to devolve into a "forget that. Everybody sexes everybody!" Jack as a slutboi is fine and kind of funny. A series where basically everyone's kind of a slut (or at least kind of sleazy) is a bit more annoying, really.

47. YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH!!!!
I never even really liked the series, but Icarus always stuck with more forever. And not just in a silly, "hey, that was a cool character" way, but in that "overrides the actual myth, replacing it was a spastic, brain-fried nerd-boy, regardless of how serious the situation." It's one of the reasons Icarus is probably one of my favorite names.
