Weirdly, the only violent part of any of his books that I remember bothering me as little kid was when Mr. Fox got his tail cut off. And I only know that it bothered me because it's pretty much the only thing I remember about that book. (It was a classroom read-aloud when I was in 2nd grade.)

Of course, I was the weird kid who was checking out Alfred Hitchcock horror story anthologies from the library when she was 9, so what do I know?
