Did you know that Hitler made a deal with Jewish leaders that he would support the creation of Jewish state in Palestine provided it would be National Socialist? It speaks well for the Jews they kept they part of the deal even after Hitler was defeated.

I wasn't trying to be offensive to religious people in general but I was trying to be insulting to a biblical lesson that strikes me as wrong.

I was totally wrong in how I was going about it though, so that's all my bad. So again, I'll say I'm sorry about how that was worded. It totally obfuscated everything I was trying to say in favour of the insult.

People often headcanon characters as being [marginalized identity] because they share that identity and they're saddened by the fact that they lack canonical/~real~ representation. I doubt that most people (outside of Superwholock-type fans, who are possibly demons sent to inflict secondhand embarrassment upon the internet) genuinely believe that their headcanons = ~~important representation~~~~

Also, it can be comforting to see your identity "represented" in fanworks, so it's not like this exercise is entirely SJW posturing. It certainly can be posturing, but it can also be helpful and comforting to people who aren't likely to see representation in mainstream media any time soon. I don't get the vitriolic reaction against it, honestly.

No, of course the Nazis were profoundly anti-semitic. My point is that it makes the most sense to me to understand the genocide of the Jews as part of the broader Nazi campaign of organized killings - almost certainly the central and most significant part, but nonetheless part. I have never understood why we should say, "The Nazis killed 6 million Jews, which we call the Holocaust, and also at the same time killed 6 million other people, which we have no name for."

In the sermon, apparently, a man has a child whose blood has the magical cure for a disease which has been ravaging the people. The only way to get the cure is to drain all of the blood, and the child will die.

The message is that god is better than man because the man can't bring himself to sacrifice his son, but god did etc etc.

What irks me about this is that this is a thing that would literally never have happened. Not in the context of TLoU (they would only have needed to do a brain biopsy at best) or in the context of how disease actually works.

I hate the sentence "You know why" about why a female and/or POC character (or a ship containing them) isn't more popular. No, you don't know why unless you have a magic lens into an AU of real life where everything is the same except that character is male/white.

Bleaching your hair white

I'm trying to bleach my hair to white for a con, and after using bleach (ion blue, I think it was?) + 2 hours of my hair smothered in this, my hair still is a weird yellow/blonde color, but not white. The lady at Sally's recommended putting more of the manic panic in my hair, and leaving it in over-night, so I might do that while I'm in the hotel room (I do have a back-up plan if it doesn't work), the night before the con, but I was wondering if anyone on F!S has bleached their hair to white, and if you did, how did you do it? Did you use the manic panic stuff? Did it actually work, or did the lady tell me that to convince me not to return my second container? (I bought two jsut in case my hair was too thick for one.)
