I think I sort of get what you mean...maybe. I've got ideas/theories for certain fandoms that I personally love and work for me, but I'd never actually want to see play out. Because they're silly, or don't make sense, or make characters OOC, or whatever. It's a fun idea in my mind but I know that the moment I'd actually articulate it I'd hate it.

It's kind of like an OC/self-insert fantasy. Lots of people have those, it's fun to play around with, but no one wants to read about it.
