Being as it's a derivative of the main work, I really don't see what all the hub-bub is about. So, the fanartist doesn't get paid, but the studio artist does, so what? How about the fanartist apply for the merchandising license and the original creator gets a percentage of that licensing fee? How about that? It's such a hypocritcal thing.
