44. The funny thing is, I actually think het does devalue male-female friendship, sometimes? At least when two guy characters have a close friendship/partnership, they stand some chance of not being shipped together all the friggging time. If it's a guy and a girl, it's pretty much guaranteed that they'll be paired together constantly, and it might even become canon (GOD DAMN IT MULDER AND SCULLY). It's like people can't even conceive of men and women relating to each other without romance involved? It makes me kinda sad sometimes.
