Because it's impossible to disentangle that view (or the view that "I don't want to watch Agent Carter") from the view that Agent Carter is bad for not doing the thing, that it is a moral necessity to do the thing, or that no one should watch Agent Carter

or to put it in fewer words, because the Internet is stupid.

(I do agree that the pushback is silly, and the appeal to historical accuracy is misguided)
