Richard Rahl may have killed pacifist protestors, but the main characters destroys the village that harbored them and slaughters every man, woman, and child in the vicinity. She’s supposed to be a lovable antihero who’s just doing what’s necessary. And this kind of stuff is apparently typical for Modesitt!
