Thank you for your comment. You had a lot of what I didn't think to. I'm 1/4 and my family wasn't on any rolls - my grandfather left as a child and refused to go back until much later in his life. There's actually a small native pop here from those that gtfo in the 60s. My point, people used to avoid being attached to their tribe, and it's all part of others and the dictation of identity. It was "better" that way.

I haven't been on the Native Appropriations blog for a while because of the hate when I think a guy used to run it? He was Cherokee, part of the Nation if I remember correctly, and spoke the language fluently, but there was always assholes that couldn't let it rest he was blond.


Idle No More is wonderful for how it managed to grow but also for being so inclusive. I'm bitter because it has been largerly ignored by Tumblr, but that doesn't surprise me.
