It's not hurting. It's not supporting the creators, but it's not hurting them.

If you watch at a friend's house or get something from the library you're not supporting the creators either, just as you're not supporting them.

You seem to be under the same impression that every illegal download = one missed sale, but that's not just not true. Many people would just simply not watch/read/play if there only option was to buy it, the only reason they do is because they get it from free, so they wouldn't be supporting the creator in this instance either. At least with pirating there's the chance that they'll like it and rec it to people who will buy the product.

I'm not saying piracy is ethical, and yeah, it would be better if everyone bought it if they want it, but in a discussion about whether or not someone counts as fan it really doesn't matter how they got to the product in the first place.

I just think it's interesting that you are painting with such broad strokes. By your own admission, if I'm not into what you're into, why would you presume to say that I'm not a fan of what I'm into?

My source is NOT available for purchase, even if I could. Not even on Japanese auction sites. It isn't even known in English speaking countries because there has never been an English translation. If anything, giving the show exposure to an English-speaking audience increases its chances of being seen by those who have to money to license it.

So you're passing judgement on a fandom with very different dynamics (I'm assuming) than yours, which I find.. interesting.

Okay, I was like, WOW that was fast

Long, post-canon, plotty Kingsman fic where Harry is Arthur but sometimes acts as Eggsy's handler while Merlin acts as Roxy's. Lots of Eggsy and Roxy bantering on missions, lots of yearning from Harry and Eggsy and at least one mission where they pair up and almost die. (If at some point in that mission they pretend to be a couple...well, that's my fav.)

There's lots of fantastic Kingsman fic (and various fic that fill at least parts of this), but I haven't seen anything that focused on the missions quite as much as I'd like. And more Roxy is always appreciated.

And actually, I would also like "Harry Hart is alive, brainwashed and out to kill Eggsy, but Eggsy makes him remember with the power of his ~love~". (Basically Steve/Bucky.) I've seen a post about that on tumblr, but no actual fic for it.

Tumblr: Slacktivism and shame on everyone for everything. Also doxxing teenagers for saying something stupid, even those that didn't know the implications of what they said. Don't talk it out, just spill all their personal information. As the tumblr SJW would say, RUIN THEIR LIVES!

And even cracking groups will include "If you like it, buy it" messages in their .nfo files. It's because they know that without support, the artists and creators simply cannot create the things that people like. I'm willing to bet that there's quite a few people out there who became big-time fans of something and bought everything they could because they torrented a small part of it. If they hadn't been able to do that, who's to say they would've become fans in the first place?

... I am suddenly reminded of that scene in Agent Carter where they're discussing stealing food and Angie goes: "Are you kidding? Carol once fit a whole chicken down her sweater." Apparently, you never know, she could be storing her lunch down there.

MC was confused when he got the message (to be fair, his former partner was supposed to be dead. Which is why clarity would have been REALLY IMPORTANT). A couple of episodes later he gets kidnapped and put in a bomb vest by her as well.

It's not that. SJW is when people get really preachy and try to get other people to feel like scum. They usually try to bully people they think are problematic into deleting their account.

Not long ago there was a group of SJW that launched a massive campaign against a group that was mostly young teenage girls. They didn't even care they made some of them suicidal and said it would be better if people like them offed themselves. Or the doxxing, they find and reblog personal information and try to get others to ruin their lives.

That's why people hate SJWs, it has nothing to do with their sexuality :/
