Because, dethtoll, someone with access to the internet has SO MUCH access to free content that I cannot in any way justify how they have the right to NEVER pay for media when they could just look up something free instead.

How is that hard to understand?

There is so much FREE content online that a single person could never consume it in one lifetime. And so you telling me that poor people have no choice but to torrent or pirate media otherwise they're "denied entertainment" rings fucking hollow.

This. I have a couple of coworkers that I have crazy (but totally platonic) affection for, and I'm sure sometimes I have that expression when I look at them.

In no way is it a "shit analogy" -- by torrenting, you're using something that you would have otherwise had to pay for. With the neighbor's tree, you're eating something that you would have otherwise had to pay for.

In both cases, the creator put an intense amount of effort into its creation and you went up and took it. You took something that wasn't yours, that someone put an intense amount of effort into.

Some of my favorite parts (If not favorite) in X-Files are when Mulder and Scully are just shooting the shit and bantering with each other.

Same with Hellsing OVA. The ENTIRE series is online on the official channel.

So, no, you still have plenty of options. Same with films -- you can find LOADS of content online. There will be ads, but that's hardly a high price to pay.

I watch Chopped online for free -- they put new episodes up every month on the official website.
