I don't see how they're analogous.

OP might THINK they've been poor, but there's a real lack of empathy for poor people here. So either they've never been poor, or they vote Republican. Or both.

Re: She's gay. That's it.

+1 So many people on this thread have no idea who this woman is or what opinions she's expressed, but they're convinced she can't be an SJW because... why? Because she's beautiful and gay? Major eyerolls.

Calling me ignorant is really funny coming from you.

Also, that study doesn't differentiate between sales-that-will-never-happen and people who buy later to support the artist. More to the point, it lumps games in with other forms of software, and doesn't differentiate between the wild west of mobile gaming and more mainstream. Without some citation legwork on your part, though, throwing a 30-page PDF at me not very useful as an answer either way.

Maryland College Institute of Art. I don't know her or anything. idk what year she graduated, but I also sell art at cons and it's a pretty familiar crowd and I recognize her art/face now. idk it's not uncommon for a group of the illust department to be entitled little shits/ possibly be sociopaths. I'm a grad btw.

Honestly, given how fucking condescending you're being (and what you're implying about poor people as a whole), yeah I'm mad.

Keep telling yourself that I'm a "rich white baby" though -- I realize now that you have to believe everyone poor acts the same way you do to justify yourself.

I'm condescending to you because you're a moron who lacks empathy, sucks at debate and can't handle when your arguments get torn apart like puppies in a blender and starts throwing a fit with ALL CAPS rage.

Go see a doctor about getting those jimmies unrustled. Or you can keep on raging because people don't agree with you and your classist attitude, I don't give a fuck either way, I think it's funny how mad you're getting.

Re: She's gay. That's it.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
No, people doubt that she's an SJW because no one has presented any evidence that she's an SJW or anything close to it, and because assholes have started using the label 'SJW' for anyone even remotely in favor of tolerance.

If you want to show that she's bad in some way, you need to provide actual evidence of that. Of course people are going to assume that she's fine, in the absence of that.

Re: This may ruin your memories even more, OP, if I'm right. Feel free to ignore.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
... it's a bit more complicated than that. Anna Anderson (as she called herself) was depressed and suicidal. She jumped off a bridge in Berlin in an attempt to kill herself and was rescued and put in an institution. A fellow patient was the first to declare that she had a resemblance to one of the Grand Duchesses, not Anna herself. It's also important to note that during WWI, she'd been gravely injured (including a head injury) by a grenade explosion and had spent a few years in insane asylums before disappearing, prior to her suicide attempt. It's clear that she wasn't 100% mentally and quite vulnerable to other people using her as a pawn in this whole Anastasia Romanov thing, so no, it doesn't make her inherently a bad person.

Re: Relationship Question

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
OP is overthinking his problem due to his anxiety over what his girlfriend will think. But telling him to break up is alarmist.

Re: She's gay. That's it.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
The reason that some people don't take the term SJW seriously anymore is because it's now migrated to the point where people use it as a label that lets them automatically dismiss anyone who has an argument related to social justice without even considering what they have to say. Huge swaths of the people who use the term have an enormous and obvious problem with social justice.

In other words, it's you assholes' own fault that people don't take the term seriously anymore.

Also, OP provided not one shred of evidence of any unreasonable opinion or statement, so it's quite hard to take them seriously.

lol

Another dumb car analogy, and I should be allowed to shoot you for that, just tossed out there so casually, says quite a bit about you.

All in all, though, entertaining thread, 10/10

Y'all jimmies so rustled they twisted.

You need some positivity and to stop being such a ho.

I actually both like you, and agree with you, so I'll actually explain that I was trying to reference to one of the 'cast interviews' from Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

(it's a great show)

Nah don't care about a bestiality fetishist's rebuttal after seeing LOGS of evidence of her being an absolute shit.

Myself, SO, another woman. It was fun, it went on for a few months, sometimes just those two, sometimes just us two (me and other woman), sometimes all three.

It was alright, but ultimately, it was just sex. Not earthshaking, and not world-ending (vis a vis - emotions).

Wouldn't do it again because frankly - i'm just not that interested in expending the effort.

Anon, the world of the game is just typical cyberpunk, but even more simplistic than digimon.

Re: Stupid little confessions

It's the no true fan fallacy.

Get over yourself, we are fans whether you like it or not. But our fault you're too thick to comprehend why piracy is so common for multiple reasons.

On second thought I should have titled that GIANT LIST OF RECS

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
How the fuck did I accumulate so much Grade-A fic in one fandom in the course of only a couple years holy shit.

Re: Inspired by #5

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Patch Adams.

What a giant 'fuck you' to the ACTUAL Patch Adams. Ugh.

Re: Stupid little confessions

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
This is indeed a stupid and little confession.

Re: Relationship Question

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily. I've been married 25 years, and my spouse still can't be arsed to remember that I have asthma. Or that I prefer actions to "stuff."

Same anon as above

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Authors: my favorite author is probably Suzan Lovett, who wrote The Goliath, The Thousandth Man, and It Was a Dark and Stormy Night, and a few others

Another few authors who are people who have many stories I liked are: Rosemary/Tiranog, Kuonji, hardboiledbaby, Terri Beckett & Chris Power, and CJ Lorane

For archives: DO NOT SET FOOT IN FANFICTION.NET Some fandoms have a lot of good stories on ff.net, but S&H is not one of them. Go to either starskyhutcharchive.com or starskyhutcharchive.net.

AO3 is also semi-acceptable if you are pretty good at filtering.

Re: X-Files Post (spoilers!)

(Anonymous) 2015-08-21 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Jose Chung is so awesome! Scully censoring the language: "We just found your bleepin' UFO." Jesse Ventura as an MiB and Totally Random Alex Trebek (wtf?) I don't remember how far you have to go before you get to Bad Blood, but that's another amusing one with different POVs.

I remember really liking Blood Money. It was the reason I developed a crush on BD Wong.
